    Non-profit Partnership “Ecovillage Lubinka” is a not-for-profit volunteers-based organization created in June 2002 and incorporated as a charity later that year. The partnership was created with the goals of creating an ecovillage in Ozery district, Moscow region (140 km south of Moscow), and selecting and developing pilot programs that can be replicated in other ecovillages throughout Russia.
  Non-profit Partnership "Ecovillage Lubinka" is a not-for-profit volunteers-based organization created in June 2002 and incorporated as a charity later that year. The partnership was created with the goals of creating an ecovillage in Ozery district, Moscow region (140 km south of Moscow), and selecting and developing pilot programs that can be replicated in other ecovillages throughout Russia.
  "Ecovillage Lubinka""s major activities include: creation of an ecovillage in Ozery district; creation of an ecovillage-based school for children built upon best alternative educational methods; implementing sustainable small-scale organic agriculture practices; nature conservation through creation of a nature protected area and ecotourism development; implementation of small-scale technologies for environmentally-sound livelihood, including ecological building and small scale renewable energy production; bringing back to life folk crafts.
  The following projects are now being implemented:
  - Creating the ecovillage - legal paperwork to receive 200 hectares of agricultural lands to serve as ecovillage site and 310 hectares of forest for conservation purposes,
  - Education project - summer school "Lubinka" (jointly with scientists and professors from Moscow State University) - around 100 children and adults will attend the summer school-camp"s intensive programs on the land of the prospective ecovillage, from mid-July to mid-August 2003,
  - Agriculture project:
  o demonstration farm project development,
  o "Ecovillage Lubinka""s member is going to USA to study sustainable agriculture and forestry at the PhD level, starting from July 2003,
  o computer-based geographic information system "GIS-Agro-Lubniks" for sustainable agriculture is created,
  o agrochemistry lab for organic agriculture is created (in collaboration with Moscow State University scientists).
  - Alternative energy: set-up and testing of a demonstration pilot micro hydropower plant on river Lubinka,
  - Ecological building: start-up of a earth-brick production unit,
  - Wireless mobile internet access is now available in Butkovo village, Ozery district.
  
  Ecovillages creation is Russia"s emerging movement. The same goes for sustainable small-scale organic agriculture, environmentally-friendly building and other small technologies.
