Early. Breeze. Chilly. Doctor heads down the path towards the sea. Kitten Muksa runs skippingly after him. Yells. Doctor stops, doesn't turn round.
- And?
Kitten stands before him, looking aside and still yelling.
- Stubborn creature.
He takes the kitten, holds her to his leg. Muksa clings at*** and clamberes up. Settles on his shoulder and calms down.
They come onto the wooden quayside. Doctor peers into the sea, looking for the nets. Muksa leaps off from his shoulder, goes to the tied boat. And so Doctor sees the nets - they are carried away to the stones.
He can't sail there. He'll have to dip into the water. Ready to leave the quayiside, he claps the thigh and clicks his tongue as if calling a dog.
- We're leaving.
Muksa stands by the boat, back to Doctor, yells.
- Nuts to you, might sit here all the day.
Doctor goes away. Muksa rushes for him, loudly yelling. Catches up with him. He slows down a bit, she jumps on his hip, then on the shoulder. Yells.
- Hist!
The last mew -- right into his ear. Doctor shivers.
Along the shore they reach the stones. Net is far off, it's deep there, waist-deep. Doctor takes Muksa off from the shoulder, divests. He piles quilted coat, pants and shirt in a sort of a nest. Puts Muksa inside.
- Sit still! Got it?
Muksa pretends she is washing and doesn't hear anything. Doctor throws off the rest of his clothes, wades the sea. It's cold. He warily gets over from stone to stone, than just walks. Suddenly he stops halfway, turns round, as if feeling something.
Muksa goes after him.
So far - skipping on the stones. But soon the stones, jutting out the water, will end.
- Whither, dunce?! Shoo! Go back! Beat it!
Doctor shouts, waves hands, scolds. He can't get back and carry Muksa ashore - it's far now, he will be frozen and won't be able to wade into the sea again.
- Don't tail after! Sit! Don't you dare!
He goes further, she jumps into the water, swims. He returns all the same, takes her from the water, puts her on his head. Talks smut heartily. She gets claws into his crown. Both are quivering with cold. Doctor gathers net from stones - there are few herrings there - returns ashore.
He wipes himself and Muksa with his undershirt. She yells. He dresses on swiftly, puts Muksa in his bosom, wraps net in the piece of tarp, shoulders it.
They go home. Muksa yells, tears herself out, jumps to the ground.
- Moron, stubborn dolt.
Doctor doesn't stop. Muksa is trying to get the tarp with net, yells.
- To hell with you.
He drops the net and spreads it out. Casts a fish to the kitten. She gulps it in a jiffy. Keeps on yelling. He casts her one more herring, than rolls net, goes his way. Muksa yells.
- Enough! I'm fed up! Might sit here and yell! Blast you. Dullard.
Muksa stops yelling, overtakes him skippingly , runs ahead, stocks along, proudly cocking her tail. Rubs against his leg, purrs.
- Filthy creature .
Doctor picks her up, puts on his shoulder . She yells triumphantly right into his ear and calms down.
- Won't bring you fishing. You dost catch mice.
Muksa waves her tail, it hits Doctor right to his nose, he loudly sneezes.
