Lydia is a historic region of western Anatolia, congruent with Turkey's modern provinces of Izmir and Manisa. Its traditional capital was the city of Sardis (Turkish: Sart). However, at its greatest extent, the Kingdom of Lydia covered all of western Anatolia.
