   I'd like to tell you a story
   About a gallant knight,
   Who was killed by his rival
   One dark and stormy night.
  
   They both loved young Krimchilda,
   She lived in an heirloom castle;
   She was so nice and pretty
   As a rose blooming in the dust.
  
   They wanted her to tell them
   Which one she would prefer,
   And in the gloomy passages
   They're dueling for her.
  
   One of them was the winner,
   The other one fell and cried:
   "Oh give me, my Krimchilda,
   The last kiss in my life!"
  
   She came and found him bleeding,
   "You're close to death - she said.
   "Why do you need my kisses
   "When you will soon be dead?
  
   "I'm young, and he is handsome,
   "He's conquered you tonight.
   "I'll kiss him for he's worthy,
   "And I shall be his bride".
  
   In the castle that knight was buried,
   But his soul was not appeased:
   His phantom still rambles there,
   Still waiting for the kiss.
