Driving into the oncoming traffic lane (when bypassing a jeep that suddenly stopped). An autobiographical story.

Driving into the oncoming traffic lane (when bypassing a jeep that suddenly stopped). An autobiographical story.

Sometimes I have an assumption that the activities of some influential people (who related to legislation) are in some kind of difficult connection with my humble person.

  For example.

I am acquiring several garden plots in the hope of preserving and increasing my savings. In a fairly short period of time, the rules for owning garden plots become more complicated, which pushes me to sell them, and which contributes to lowering prices for these plots. (The rules change after the game starts, during the game! Maybe the influential people will take care of the purchase of land plots by the state at a fair price from a little surprised and disappointed owners?)

Or. When I was dismissed from one organization whose interests I defended, it turned out that I did not take a vacation. There were constantly disturbing circumstances that required my activity, and which made a real vacation impossible. It went on year after year, for years. At last, when everything was successfully completed, and I submitted my resignation, I was compensated for the unused vacation.

After a short time, the legislation was amended to prevent the payment of such compensation. Now - according to the new rules - you need to take a vacation (without fail). What if a real vacation is impossible? It is probably necessary to hire a lawyer on these issues in such case... Maybe he will advice a some scheme?

Or. I went from Rostov to Novorossiysk and on the way - with the help of a telephone handset - I shot an amateur film, the title of which sounded something like this: "From Rostov to Abrau in 13 hours."

The total length of the route is about 500 km. 500 divided by 13 turns out to be about 39 km per hour.

But there may be suggestions that there were stops - for food, for rest.

Soon there is a norm about the possibility of punishment for exceeding of the average speed.

I have long been convinced that my content is being carefully studied, for example, by entire teams of some radio stations...

I stop listing strange coincidences, for now, and I turn to the law on punishment for re-entering the oncoming lane.

I have not read the text of the new law itself.

I just heard on the news program that such a law has been adopted, signed, and that the strict - criminal - penalties have been established!

  Maybe it's worth reading?

In general, I recalled such a case.

I was driving a car. It was outside of Rostov. I was going somewhere.

A call came to my cell phone from home. A call came to the home wired phone from some significant people: "We need to discuss a financial, possibly mutually beneficial, issue."

The case seemed important enough to me. I turned around and headed for the meeting.

After meeting with significant people, there was no point in going outside of Rostov again. I took the familiar path home.

This way home, familiar to me, was the shortest.

On one of the segments, traffic suddenly slowed down. Cars piled up. This has never happened.

For as long as I could remember, this part of the road was always free - simply because this street was not very popular.

After a complicated crossroad, I drove to an even more deserted section of the road. Here, only rare buses from among the public transport went along the oncoming lane.

Suddenly the car in front of me stopped. How many meters away was the car? 50? 100? 150? I can't say for sure right now... The car was walking somewhere ahead...

I drove up to a jeep, which suddenly stopped. Maybe I slowed down, maybe I even stopped for a moment...

Then I started to go around the jeep.

I didn't think at that moment whether there is a difference between "overtaking" and "detour", about whether some traffic signs should be duplicated after complicated crossroads ...

I felt surprised: why a jeep stopped? And I also wanted to get home after a long trip...

There were no markings on the road. There was no dividing line. The total width of the road (carriageway) was six meters, so when I bypassed a jeep, that stopped in the middle of the lane, my departure into the oncoming lane was inevitable (although the oncoming lane was not marked with markings).

As soon as I drove around the jeep, I heard the sound of a signal from the jeep. It seemed to me that there was something victorious in this sound. If they were happy, then what was the reason for their pleasure ?...

After another 100-150 meters, I discovered a car, whose passengers explained to me that I drove into the oncoming lane, and for this, the deprivation of a driver's license for a certain period of time is due.

Behind, about a kilometer away, even before the complicated crossroad, there was a sign, the description of which in the traffic regulations, among other conditions, meant a ban on entering the oncoming lane when overtaking.

I tried to find a positive side in any - even negative (at first glance) - situation, and I was not particularly upset...

But one day I saw transparent files on trees and pillars (for electric lighting) along this segment of the path. Every 20-25 meters. For some reason, I thought they were hung up by an emotional woman. On the sheets of paper attached to the files, it was written: "You can't overtake here!". She needed, probably, to show out her understanding of justice...

Six months later, a dividing line appeared on this road (was it really the result of a desire for justice on the part of an emotional woman?!), and the transparent files no longer appeared...

All this happened about 10 years ago...

Now, if we take literally the information that is being reported to us on the radio about the new law, those who re-drove into the oncoming lane will face a strict - criminal - punishment. If all this is exactly as it seems, then maybe it can somehow be combined with the consideration of the issue of the "disappearance" of the object (on Muscatnaya Street) from the legal electronic databases ? The applicant, let's assume, repeatedly drove into the oncoming lane ... and he stopped writing applications to the Federal Tax Service, to the Ministry of Finance...

In general, I don't know whether to be happy or to be proud (or maybe to be sad?) under the assumption that the legislative activity is connected with my personal history...
