Almost two years ago, on March 22, 2023, I told about opening a bank account in yuan (MMMCCXLIX. The bank deposit in yuan is my sign of loyalty (as well as of patriotism). A diary note. - March 22, 2023).
Yesterday, December 11, 2024, I closed this account.
Why did I do this?
A number of reasons prompted me to take this action.
I cannot list all my thoughts on this matter, so as not to create an unnecessary situation.
But, - to give an example, - I will give two of my theses, although they are of a secondary and of a third-rank nature.
Using an ATM, I could top up my account in yuan at my discretion, or withdraw yuan from the account. At the same time, either rubles were converted into yuan, or yuan was converted into rubles. Naturally, all these operations were carried out in non-cash form, by transferring money from one bank account to another.
Initially, access to the ATM was round-the-clock. But from some day access to the ATM from midnight to 5 a.m. was lost.
One day I tried to convert yuan into rubles. "The function is not available." Different things could be happen: I didn't bother. I came the next day. Again: "The function is not available." I achived to perform the operation I needed, but took a note in memory.
Such more or less secondary (third-rank) circumstances are listed in the list of my reasons (among others).
There is no way to set out more significant motives in this diary note.
After thinking about it for a while - taking into account all the circumstances - I closed the account in yuan.
Currency transactions can be both profitable and unprofitable.
Currency (and other) accounts can be opened and closed - in accordance with the law.
At the moment, I have considered it advisable - for the sum of considerations - to close a bank account in yuan.
I consider almost two years of experience (March 22, 2023 - December 11, 2024) to be quite useful for me.
