Prior to the start of the 9th Russian Season (in Paris), Sergei Diaghilev headed to Russia.
Here, in December, before the onset of the new, 1914, in a Moscow restaurant, he learned about the aspiring actor Léonide Massine [Leonid Fyodorovich Myasin]. Sergei Pavlovich fell into thought, remembering something, and then muttered that he had already had occasion to see Massine [Myasin].
Massine [Myasin] was to dance in the new ballet "The Legend of Joseph".
The premiere of the ballet took place on May 14, 1914, "all of Paris" gathered at the theater. Richard Strauss himself conducted the orchestra, to whom Diaghilev paid huge money for those times - 100 thousand gold francs! for the music for this ballet.
Richard Strauss (Richard Strauss himself!) agreed to conduct the ballet, in which the young dancer - Leonid Myasin - performs the main role! In addition, such well-known creative persons as Michel Fokine and Misia Sert "had a hand" in the creation of the performance ...
Sergei Diaghilev had to collect all the cash to pay the fee to Richard Strauss. Even three rubles from the pocket of the "Moscow" coat came in handy. These were the ruble of 1896, the ruble of 1898 and the ruble of 1913. With some difficulty, these three rubles (among other coins of Russian origin) were exchanged for gold francs and added to the cash financial resources at the disposal of Sergei Diaghilev.
Taking out these three rubles from the pocket of his "Moscow" coat, Sergei Diaghilev remembered that Heinrich Schliemann believed that Homer's heroes touched many of the things Schliemann discovered in Greece.
Probably, Moscow philanthropists, high-ranking patrons of the Imperial Theatres, - may be, Nicholas II himself? - once (by the will of fate) touched and disposed of these three rubles - so that Sergei Diaghilev would use them to invite Richard Strauss.
100 thousand gold francs were collected and handed over to Strauss.
The maestro was satisfied. He made new plans.
In London, the ballet "The Legend of Joseph" was received much better than in Paris...
Now these three rubles - three rubles out of the "Moscow" coat of Sergei Diaghilev - are at my disposal. Some time ago I accidentally bought these coins.

Coin condition: 109 years or more (2022-1913=109) left their traces. The coins look not bad.
